What if rest is what propels you forward?
Wisdom That Leads to Soul Rest is a practical, faith-filled guide to the kind of rest that doesn’t slow you down—it changes everything. Whether you’re chasing new goals, healing from grief, or simply sensing that something in your life feels off, this book helps you explore a radical idea: maybe the way forward isn’t working harder, but pausing with intention. Bret learned that sabbaticals are not escapes; they’re an advantage. Along the way, he collected small but transformative insights—nuggets of wisdom that read like an “Old Farmer’s Almanac” for the mind, body, and soul. It’s the resource he wishes he could hand to his younger self with a note: “Read this, and save yourself time, money, and pain.”
Inside Wisdom That Leads to Soul Rest, you’ll discover:
Why sabbaticals are the secret advantage of high achievers
How prayer, fasting, and solitude unlock deeper wisdom and faith
Why those who pause with purpose return with greater clarity and power
Practical steps to weave rest into your career without losing momentum
This is a faith-based book offering timeless principles that ground leaders in strength, peace, and renewal.
If you’re ambitious, want to discover a greater purpose for your life, or need to recover from grief or disappointment, Wisdom That Leads to Soul Rest may be the missing ingredient—helping you recharge your soul and restore the joy you once had.

Reflections on “The Gift of Grace” & “Learn to Love the Word No” – from Wisdom That Leads to Soul Rest
Let me just say — Bret Kolman didn’t just write chapters; he wrote life lessons that hit home in the best way possible.
“The Gift of Grace” stopped me right in my tracks. I felt every word. If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that I’ve received more grace over the years than I could ever give back — and Lord knows, I’ll keep needing it daily! This chapter reminded me that grace isn’t weakness; it’s wisdom. It’s choosing peace over pride and relationships over being right.
Then came “Learn to Love the Word No,” and whew — it was like Bret looked straight into the life of every overcommitted, people-pleasing soul out there (hi, that’s me
). He reminded me that saying no isn’t selfish — it’s sacred. No creates space for rest, family, and faith to breathe again.
Between the two, Bret captures the secret to soul rest: give grace freely, say no boldly, and trust that God’s timing — and His “no’s” — are just as much a gift as His “yes’s.”
These chapters are a beautiful reminder that grace and boundaries aren’t opposites — they’re partners in peace.
